Release planning

Major and minor releases

Major and minor releases of Quarkus CXF mostly follow the release schedule of Quarkus.

Quarkus Core is typically released on a Wednesday (roughly) once a month. We normally release Quarkus CXF in the week after that and we subsequently send an upgrade to Quarkus Platform. Quarkus Platform is then released on the following Wednesday.

An example:

  • Wed June 19th - Quarkus Core 2.12.0

  • Thu June 20th - Quarkus CXF 2.12.0

  • Wed June 26th - Quarkus Platform 2.12.0 containing Quarkus CXF 2.12.0

Hence to use Quarkus CXF 2.12.0 you’ll best wait for Quarkus Platform 2.12.0 that appears within a week after Quarkus CXF 2.12.0.

Long term support (LTS) versions

We typically produce patch releases only for LTS streams. We choose the same major.minor for LTS as Quarkus.
